the new Fleming Townhouses in Mayfair

When the Flemings Mayfair designed and built their new luxury townhouse in the heart of Mayfair, they asked the public to help in the naming of the unique residence. "The design encompasses the warmth and intimacy of the hotel with a balance of contemporary style and timeless opulence." says Flemings Mayfair representative Colin Exton, "Comprising a two-bed garden apartment, a three-bed duplex apartment, a Junior Suite and a Classic Double room, each may be booked individually or you may take the entire house as your own private address in Mayfair."

Travel 100 Group consultant Rosemary Gwyther rose to the occasion and submitted her own names to the contest. Having been born and raised in the UK, she felt it would be proper to honour Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee year by naming the two-bed garden apartment "the Diamond Suite" and the three-bed duplex apartment "the Jubilee Suite". The judges agreed and named her the winner, offering a paid trip to England for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The news came to her Kenilworth office along with a bouquet of beautiful flowers from the hotel. The next week, accompanied by colleague Wyn Gilbert, she was on her way to her homeland to be honoured at the opening.

"This was an event to behold..red carpet all the way. The Queen couldn't have had a better and a more amazing experience." said Rosemary upon her return Stateside. "The theme was ALICE IN WONDERLAND and we saw the movie in 3D in the drawing room. The theme allowed games to be played and the winners had a night in the townhouse with 13 of their best friends. It was unique and fun. A charming touch. Over 70 people attended the event."
