Small-Ship Adventure Cruises

Some of our cruisers at Travel 100 Group are not about the buffet, island hopping or the sun bathing they are looking more for active outdoor nature adventures. Below we have listed 4 amazing cruise adventures to wet your appetite for the wild! The ships cater to 500 passengers or less, which allows them to slip into shallow waters and stay alongside rugged coastlines. The beauty of this type of trip is after a long day of snorkeling with an oceanographer in Tahiti or jeep safari into the mountains of Polynesia our clients experience what approximates a private yacht adventure because of the intimate experience these smaller ships have to offer. Take a look at these incredible destinations we have to offer!

French Polynesia

The Radisson Seven Seas' 320 passenger ship, Paul Gauguin, has a retractable water sports platform with kayaking and water skiing launched off the stern of the ship. Lectures range from naturalists to experts on Polynesia. Guests can swim the Blue Lagoon. Feed fish while snorkeling over coral reefs, wander around the local villages, or take a jeep safari into the mountains.

Amazon River

There are few ships that make this 800 mile journey beginning at the mouth of the Amazon on the Brazilian Coast to Manaus or Iquitos, Peru. The experience takes you deep into the Pacaya-Samiria national Reserve- the largest wetland reserve in the world. Guests of this amazing place view monkeys, birds, sloths and pink and gray dolphins. Naturalists and photographers are on board to help make this a truly memorable experience. The passenger boats for nine day expedition’s hold anywhere from 16-29 passengers.

Baja Mexico

We like Spirit of the Endeavor, a 102 passenger ship we call the whale watchers dream. From late December to mid march, guests can view whales from three decks on this ship and the captain lets the boat drift among remote pods that represent one-third of the world’s whale and dolphin species. Passengers report getting so close to gray whales in Bahia Magdalena you can feel their spray!

Alaska

There are many ways to see Alaska, however on the American Safari 22 passenger Cruises you really get down to nature. These are luxury yachts, which anchor nightly to maximize daylight viewing of the coast and resident puffins, moose and eagles. Between May and august passengers can explore hidden coves, ice kayaking, hike and whale watch along Alaska’s 1000 mile Inside Passage and Glacier Bay National Park!
